Pink Himalayan salt is is a rock salt variety mined in  is mined from the Salt Range mountains, the southern edge of a fold-and-thrust belt that underlies the Pothohar Plateau south of the Himalayas.

Can be used for all cooking just like regular salt.  

The salt consists of trace minerals, such as potassiummagnesium, and calcium that give the salt its characteristic pink hue
